Education/ Certification Mandatory:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, and Engineering, Business or other related scientific or technical discipline
Work Experience Mandatory:
- The Data Governance Analyst must have 5 years' direct experience working with enterprise data governance teams and developing processes and procedures
Roles and Responsibilities:
- The Data Governance Analyst will have a strong understanding of databases and data structures, strong analytical and time management, and excellent written and verbal communication.
- Special emphasis should be given to understanding modern data architectures that support enterprise- wide data integration and cataloging.
- Intermediate facilitation skills are required with the ability to drive issues to closure.
- Ability to deliver a high level of customer service, attention to detail and ability to breakdown and organize complex concepts into simplified concepts, terminology, definitions, and recommendations are important skills for the contractor to provide.
- Federal staff currently lead data governance efforts, and we are looking for support in development of artifacts and processes and guidance in best practices.
- The Data Governance Analyst must demonstrate the ability to partner well within a collaborative, national, matrixed team environment and engage multiple audiences that vary in business or technical focus.
- They must also have the ability to articulate complex topics clearly and interact with non- technical business users on their data needs.
- In addition, this work will require proficiency and comfort in facilitating workshops and other meetings and driving information discovery among multiple participants.
- The senior and journey-level professional need to have knowledge and experience in developing, documenting, implementing, and maintaining geospatial data models and databases in Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) in both on-premises and cloud environments.
- NISC needs database operations and geospatial services support for GIS customers nationwide. NISC is responsible for maintaining multiple Microsoft SQL Server instances supporting geospatial editing and publication workflows.
- These instances support many enterprise databases and have associated direct connect or service-based editing workflows for a variety of customers nationwide.
- Support for maintaining the data instances includes tasks such as monitoring backups, patching and otherwise maintaining the infrastructure.
- We also hope to continue to Specific tasks may include:
- Development, Maintenance, and Operations of Enterprise Geodatabases and associated SQL Server or Postgres Instances.
- Create functional specifications and recommend solutions for alphanumeric and geospatial data systems.
- Develop and maintain databases and data systems, reorganizing data in a readable format.
- Use automated tools to extract data from various sources, remove or repair corrupted data, and fix coding errors and related problems.
- Define database physical structure and functional capabilities and current and future storage requirements.
- Develop and document appropriate metadata records (business, technical, process, and operational) for the contents of developed data management systems and data standards.
- Develop and maintain enterprise data d architecture to support business requirements.
- Develop and implement physical data models for both tabular and geospatial data systems and reverse engineer physical databases as needed by various business units/program areas.
- Monitor and optimize database(s) performance and user access, plan for backup and restoration/recovery of database information, manage and monitor data replication.
- Publish geospatial web services to support feature service editing workflows and branch versioning.
- Configure Enterprise Geodatabases and web services to support various workflows in support of customer requirements.
